Privacy Notice

Our approach
House & Kin collects only the information reasonably needed to evaluate a request and build the family calendar a customer orders.
Information we collect
We may collect an adult customer’s name, email address, home time zone, calendar platform, school names and locations, applicable grade or academic year, requested holiday or observance calendars, communications, and calendar-source materials the customer provides. Our website and service providers may also collect ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser, device, visit time, referring page and campaign code.
Information we ask you not to provide
We do not need student names, birth dates, student identification numbers, academic grades, health or custody information, government identification numbers, school-login credentials, calendar-account credentials or payment-card numbers. Please redact unnecessary identifying information from portal exports before providing them.
How we use information
We use information to assess an order, prepare and quality-check calendar deliverables, process payment, provide import support, respond to questions, prevent fraud and comply with law. If you select holiday or observance calendars, we use that selection only to add the requested dates. We do not use that selection to infer anyone’s beliefs or for advertising.
Payments
Payments are processed on a Stripe-hosted page. House & Kin receives transaction information such as customer name, email, amount, payment status and transaction identifier, but does not receive or store a full payment-card number. Stripe processes information under its own privacy notice.
Service providers and software tools
We may use service providers and software tools, including AI-assisted tools, for website hosting, forms, email, secure file storage, payments, calendar preparation, research, formatting and quality control. We limit information supplied to what is reasonably needed and remove direct identifiers where practical. These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy notices.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information to service providers that help fulfill an order, when the customer directs us to do so, when required by law, to address fraud or security incidents, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
Retention
Unconverted inquiries are ordinarily deleted after 30 days. Customer-supplied calendar files and working copies are ordinarily deleted 30 days after delivery. Final deliverables and source records are ordinarily retained through the covered period to support redelivery, but not more than 18 months without permission. Minimal transaction and tax records may be retained longer as required for legal and accounting purposes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we maintain. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct or delete operational information by emailing concierge@houseandkin.com. We may verify the request and may retain limited information required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes.
Children
The service is offered to adults. We do not knowingly solicit information directly from children under 13. A parent or other authorized adult may provide limited school-calendar information needed for the service.
Advertising and changes
At launch, House & Kin does not sell personal information or use cross-site behavioral advertising. We may update this notice prospectively and will show the new effective date before any materially different practice begins.
